Thanks very much for this report.  I'll be going over the points you've
raised in detail later.

Please let me say for now, however, that failure to update the order status
is a bug, and indicates missing code that I need to write.  I will be looking
more at this problem later in the week, and will keep you posted.  I'll
also look into the other issues you've raised, although I'm not sure that
I can get to them this week.
